FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How are murals created?

Murals have two main creation methods: one involves direct wall painting, while the other entails the fabrication of off-site murals for permanent installation. Off-site murals are crafted using a resilient material known as "parachute cloth" (also known as polytab). Murals painted on parachute cloth exhibit exceptional longevity, retaining their vibrant colors for decades, even when exposed to direct sunlight. Since these murals are created within a studio environment, they can be worked on throughout the year, regardless of weather conditions, and can be easily transported to various locations.

How much does a mural cost?

Various factors go into the pricing of a mural. The cost is determined based on the size of the wall, the level of detail, materials costs, and level of community engagement. Reach out, we can be flexible!

Do you only work locally?

Our vibrant murals are painted in our off-site studio and are then placed in their permanent homes once the painting is done. The best part? They can be easily transported and installed anywhere, whether it's just down the road or across the globe!

Do you do any community engagement?

Public art has the power to significantly influence the local neighborhood, making it important to seek input from the community. This approach may involve hosting workshops for meaningful public discussions and creative input, as well as organizing community paint parties.

What kinds of clients do you work with?

We work with organizations, municipalities, homeowners, schools, and companies, undertaking projects of all sizes, ranging from small interior murals to large outdoor public artworks.

Who designs the murals?

Our murals have their roots in community input. The first phase of mural design involves the collection of stories, ideas, history, and aspirations from the community. These inputs serve as the creative building blocks for our final mural design. Typically, our Artistic Director, Sharon Leshner, takes the lead in crafting these designs. However, we often take on projects in collaboration with other lead artists.

Who works on the murals?

The best murals are often a team effort! Local artists are hired to help paint and install murals.
