Let It Flow! This class is for you if you’re ready to break out of your usual scale and habits.
We'll get playful and use materials that don't let you overthink: fluid acrylics, chunky textures, torn paper, layered inks. You'll pick up skills in mixed media and unconventional techniques as we push past our typical use of materials into something surprising and expressive. Expect pouring, layering, collaging, and a healthy amount of happy mess.
Music plays a central role in our process, creating space for intuition to enter the work. We'll listen for what comes through in our artwork and build a trusted space to share it with one another. Each class we will listen to one full album straight through, both oldies and newies, we will shake up our genres from session to session, from the hypnotic rhythms of classical music, to cumbia, R&B, and more.
You'll be making alongside a group of fellow artists, with regular time built in to share what we're working on and cheer each other along. When weather allows, we'll take the class outside for plein-air sessions - working with the miraculous fall leaves.
You'll leave with a stack of new artwork, a looser relationship with your process, and permission to take up more space on the page. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced artist, there's room for you here.
